The men who are to lead the cheering at Springfield should be appointed at once. They should take charge of the cheering on Jarvis this week in order that they may get accustomed to their duties as leaders and that the students may learn to know who are to lead them in cheering next Saturday. We understand that in former years the 'varsity manager has appointed the cheering staff. He should at tend the matter sometime today. From this time the cheering for the eleven must be better than it has been at any time yet. There should be a meaning in the cheering; we must aim not only to encourage the team but to show in our cheering the kind of a game we hope to see the men play, - systematic, snappy and full of life. Good cheering has been an important factor in more than one victory on the foot ball field.
