The hissing which occurred at lunch yesterday in Memorial is the third time such a disturbance has occurred this year, and it should most emphatically be the last. If some men in Memorial are determined to show the ungentlemanly side of their nature the directors of the Dining Association should make a stringent rule to meet such cases, and the next time the offenders make an exhibition of themselves, expel them from the hall. The repetition of the offense three times justifies severe measures. It is, of course, unfortunate that people are allowed to show their own bad taste by their presence in the gallery of Memorial to watch us eat, but this does not excuse unmannerly exhibitions on our part. The men who have led in the disturbances this year have been discovered by the steward of the hall and his assistants, and it is a relief to know that most of them are new to the University. It is to be hoped that this warning will be sufficient to show them the error of their way. Another repetition of the hissing on the same slight provocation will certainly lead to results extremely unpleasant to themselves.
