Mr. Moorfield Storey.

Under the auspices of the Harvard Reform Club Mr. Moorfield Storey '66. will speak in Sanders Theatre, Wednesday evening on the "The Present Position of the Independent Man."

The Harvard Reform Club (the new name for the reorganized Free Wool Club) aims to bring before the college the ablest speakers interested in the cause of good government and general political reform from both of the great polical parties.

The independent movement in New England and throughout Massachusetts in particular has had such force during the past few years that the presence of such an organization in the University is in the highest degree appropriate.

A more able man than Mr. Storey or a subject of more general interest at the present time could not be asked for. Prominently identified with the National Civil Service Reform League, his speech at the annual convention of that body in Buffalo held during the first week of the present month created wide spread attention. Mr. Storey's duties in the law make such demands upon his time that the opportunity of hearing him in Cambridge is rare and the reception given him on Wednesday evening in Sanders should be correspondingly enthusiastic.

His subject, "The Present Position of the Independent Man" will treat the questions of this year's state campaign and their application to the present situation in the national politics from the standpoint of a man who allies himself to that party in which he sees the greatest opportunities for good government. Mr. Storey has of late been identified with the Democratic party and his talk on Wednesday will be in large measure a discussion as to whether that party has kept its pledges and is hence entitled to the support of the honorable and intelligent portion of the community.
