Foot Ball.

Yesterday the 'varsity eleven was considerably changed from the make up in the last game. The two elevens lined up for practice at about four o clock as follows:

Newell, Grant.

Heard, Pierce.

W. H. Shea, Bangs.

Vail. Mack.

Rantoul, Fitzhugh.

Bond, Collamore.

Gage, 1-4 back Cobb.

Lake, half backs Burgess.

Corbett, half backs White.

Trafford, backs Corbett.

The 'varsity could seem to make no headway against the strong rush line which the second presented, and finally lost the ball. Corbett, Burgess and White all made clever runs, and Corbett scored three touch downs against the 'varsity while White also scored once or twice. Lake scored for the 'varsity.

The play throughout was loose. Gage's passing was poor, but that was partly accounted for by the poor fashion in which Shea snapped the ball back, All the first eleven backs fumbled.

George Adams coached the team as a whole and tried to put some life into it. Mr. Lathrop was out to look out for the tacking. Cranston also was on hand to each centre rush. All the men in the rush line showed evident need of individual coaching.
