Yesterday evening at Appleton Chapel, Rev. Professor W. J. Tucker, of Andover, chose for his text Peter's reply to the beggar at the gate of the temple, "Silver and gold have I none; but what I have, that I give thee."
Professor Tucker spoke briefly of some of the uses of money, and then explained why knowledge, motive and self denial are justly considered equal to the moral use of money.
The choir sang the following anthems: Arise, Shine, for Thy Light is Come-Elvey; Jerusalem-Oliver King; God that Madest Earth and Heaven-Fisher.
