Notices have been posted about the yard calling for all men in college who can play any musical instrument, to present themselves tomorrow evening and Friday evening as candidates for the Pierian Sodality Orchestra. For a number of years this first meeting of the candidates has not been well attended, and the officers of the society often have been at the point of despair; but, finally, after a deal of persuasion, enough men have always appeared to carry on the orchestra.
There is no need of this sort of thing occurring again this year. Every musician, particularly members of the freshman class, is urged to meet at the appointed time, and do his part toward making this, the oldest of college musical societies, a greater success this year than it has been for a great while.
