If any freshmen have a taste for journalism and wish to give themselves a practical test while in college, the CRIMSON would be glad to hear from them. Freshmen are eligible as editors and it has been the custom in past years to elect one or more men if any prove themselves worthy. Unless '94 is sadly inferior to the preceding classes, there are some suitable men among the newcomers. These men can not begin work too soon. All that is required of them is to write good English, and to show energy and accuracy in picking up news. All departments of the paper are open to contributors. It remains only for men to get hold of the news, prepare their contributions as early as possible each day, and leave them in the box at Leavitt and Pierce's. All work done by candidates for the paper will be counted, whether published or not; and no one need be discouraged at not seeing all his contributions in print.

We remind '93 that as yet only one member has earned an election to the CRIMSON board. This is a poor record, compared to that of '91 and '92. A class which has distinguished itself in athletics should be ambitious of giving equally good support to the college papers; and this '93 has failed to do. We hope to see the class redeem itself, and to receive within the next few months enough contributions of satisfactory quality to enable us to fill several of the present vacancies.
