It was encouraging to notice the large number of candidates who presented themselves on Jarvis field yesterday; but there are still many men in college physically able to play who have not turned out. Some of these have been personally asked to play, and have excused themselves on very slight pretences. These men should feel that it is their duty to turn out and do their best for the eleven; for otherwise Harvard can not be sure of having the strongest possible team to represent her. Laziness is no excuse for not playing.
