A series of meetings has been arranged for next year to be devoted to "An Introduction to the Study of the Bible." These meetings will be, like the College Conferences, informal, conversational and open only to members of the university. They will be held each week during a greater part of the year and will be conducted by a large number of the Faculty, including some of the Board of Preachers and Professors Everett, Toy, Thayer, Palmer, Peabody, Wright and others. The address by Professor Harper this evening is on the same subject on which he will contribute his valuable suggestions and advice. His progressive scholarship, and his great success both in teaching the Semitic languages and in leading college men to a more thorough study of the English Bible, give him a special fitness to speak on this subject, and a more than ordinary claim to attention.
