Baby.The very laughable comedy "Baby" began a short run of one week last night at the Boston Museum.

Mankind."Mankind" was performed at the Boston Theatre last night. The play is a realistic domestic drama, with riots and mobs, and naturally excites a good deal of applause.

Railroad of Love.Daly's Company played in "The Railroad of Love" at the Hollis Street Theatre last night, and tonight they will play in "As You Like It." Miss Ada Rehan's "Rosalind" is a very creditable piece of acting; in New York it received a great deal of praise. The season will end this week on Friday with a performance of "A Night Off," as the company sails for Europe on Saturday.

Jim the Penman."Jim the Penman" received a hearty welcome last night at the Tremont Theatre, and was as great a success as it has been on previous presentations. As is well known the play is rather emotional; it gives Mr. Palmer's Madison Square Theatre Company an excellent opportunity to display its various talents. Mrs. Agnes Booth once more played "Nina," and Mr. Robertson "James Ralston."

Iolanthe."Iolanthe" is now running through its last week at the Globe Theatre. Last night was a benefit night, and the "Rose of Auvergne" was added to the bill. Miss Marie Jansen, as usual, received a large share of the applause-her rendering of the songs, "Be Good," and "Listen to the Tale of Woe," being exceptionally fine. Miss Esther Palliser acquitted herself in a very creditable manner, giving assurance that her testimonial tomorrow, at which she will play "Marguerite," will be a great success.
