The cricket eleven deserve great praise for their decisive victory over Longwood on Saturday. The Longwood team holds the championship of New England, and last year did not suffer a single defeat. Not since 1887 has Harvard won a game from them. Saturday's match, however, showed that the Harvard eleven have made a great improvement over last year's playing, and have improved since the beginning of this season, especially in fielding. Their faithful work may earn the intercollegiate championship for Harvard, and at all events deserves hearty recognition by the college.
