Fact and Rumor.

There was a cut yesterday in Latin 6.

H. A. Davis, '91, has been elected an editor of the Monthly.

The freshman crew resumed rowing yesterday, after three days' respite.

There will be one more short examination in N. H. 4 before the end of the term.

The Frogs of Aristophanes will be read during the rest of the year in Greek 6.

There will be a course in scientific German next year to be known as German 1c.

For the last few days H. Tallant, '91, has been rowing number 2 on the university crew.

There will be an advanced course in argumentative composition next year as well as English 5.

Mr. G. R. Carpenter, of the English department, will be at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology next year.

Men in English A are requested to hand in their blue books for the finals within the next two weeks.

Professor Taussing will lecture for the next few weeks to all members of PolEcon. I in Lower Mass. on the financial history of the United States since 1861. The door will be locked at five minutes past nine.

The present weights of the Yale crew are as follows: Bow, Rogers, 163; 2, Simms, 165; 3, Brewster, 188; 4, Heffelfinger, 205; 5, Newell, 185; 6, Ferris, 190; 7, Ives, 175; stroke, Allen, 170; average, 180 1-8; coxswain, Thompson, 120.

The Columbia crew has been singularly unfortunate this year. Last week as a final blow the launch went to pieces and sunk. The college, however, will persevere, and put a crew on the water. Both Cairns and Langthorne will row.

The Brown University nine defeated the B. A. A. team at Providence Saturday by a score of 12 to 2. The Brown men hit Soutter hard and played an almost perfect fielding game. Phillips Andover beat the Boston College nine at Andover, 14 to 0. Trinity College defeated Columbia at Hartford Friday, 5 to 0.

Mention of the Yale class races, which took place on the two mile course at Lake Saltons tall last Saturday, was crowded out of yesterday's CRIMSON. The sophomore eight won by half a length in 11m. 48s. The juniors were second and freshmen third. Butler, '90, won the 1 1-2 mile race in singles for the third successive year. Time 13m. 30s.
