We regret that the Board of Overseers have voted against printing the Commencement programme in English. There are good arguments for the retention of Latin as well as for the adoption of our language, but consistency is a good thing and it is a question whether the average spectators at commencement day exercises will be any more delighted than librarians, historians, and biographers will be by future English Quinquennial Catalogues, of which they are the ones to make the most use.
