W. J. Corcoran, the well-known athletic trainer, is coaching ten men for places on the Yale Road Bicycle team. He thinks that Yale has the material to make one of the strongest bicycle teams in the country.

Many improvements have been made this spring at the Berkeley Oval. The seating capacity of the grounds has been nearly trebled. The ground north of the running track has been thoroughly drained, so that the track is now probably the fastest in the country.

The use of boats belonging to the Harvard Rowing Club by members who keep on the water for four or five hours at a stretch, while men are waiting at the boat house for a chance to go out, has necessitated a rule restricting the time allowed for use of a boat. The rule restricts use of singles and doubles to an hour and a half, and fours to two hours, and is designed to give all men equal chance at the boats.

The Harvard Union will hold a meeting this evening at 7.30 in Sever 11. The question for debate will be: Resolved, that increased subsidies furnish the best method of improving American shipping interests. The principal disputants assigned for the debate are: affirmative, C. P. Blaney, '90, and P. L. Horne, '92; negative, C. Beardsley, Sp., and M. A. Bartlett, '93. The following questions will be submitted from which choice will be made for the next debate. (1) Resolved, that the resignation of Bismarck is an advantage to Germany. (2) That the McKinley tariff bill should be passed. (3) That candidates for the degree of A. B. should be allowed to substitute a year in a professional school for the senior year in college.
