The second game with Dartmouth on Saturday proved to be a much better one than than that on Friday. harvard played more steadily in the field than the day before, but her batting was very irregular. In the field Linn played a brilliant game, and Dean made one fine stop and a double play with Trafford. As far as the other fielding features went, the game was devoid of any especial interest. Downer's home run in the sixth inning was the only heavy hit made by Harvard, although both Linn and Alward managed to obtain two-baggers. Dartmouth outbatted Harvard, and the game would have been very close if the pitcher, Harland, had not been will, and given so many bases on balls.

Neither side scored in the first inning. In the second, Trafford got his base on balls, stole second, and took third on a passed ball; Upton got his base on balls and both he and Trafford came home on Alward's two bagger to centre. The fielder fumbled the ball and Alward went to third, coming home on Codman's muffed fly. Hallowell's hit sent Codman to third, and he came home on Downer's sacrifice.

Dartmouth scored for the first time in the fourth inning, when Ranney knocked a three-bagger to left centre, and came in on Downs' single. Downs was advanced two bases on Downer's wild pitch, which Upton should have reached, and tallied on Scruton's single. In the fifth inning Dean got a base on balls. A steal, Linn's sacrifice, and Howland's single brought him in. In the next inning Hallowell got a life on Codman's out at second, and reached that base on Norton's only error. Downer knocked a home-run through the right field fence, bringing in Hallowell. Dartmouth made two runs in this inning on Alward's fumble, Howland's wild threw and Upton's muff at the plate. In the eighth inning Harvard added three more runs to her score. Downs, short-stop, fumbled Alward's grounder; Codman made a hit advancing Alward: both got a base on Hallowell's sacrifice and came in on Downer's sacrifice. Dean got a base on balls, stole second, and scored on Linn's single. In her half of the inning Dartmouth scored two earned runs. Ranney led off with a hit to right; Norton followed him with a single over second base. Downs hit to right field, advancing the base-runners, but he himself was fielded out at first by Linn. Harland's three-bagger to deep-centre brought Ranney and Norton home, and made Dartmouth's final score six. In the last inning, for Harvard Upton got his base on shortstop's error. Alward knocked a high fly which the left fielder muffed and then fumbled; Upton meanwhile reached home. The score:
