A fifteen page thesis will be due in German 5 on March 24, on "Wilhelm Meister and Mignon."

The Brown university seniors are discussing the question of caps and gowns for class day.

There will be a meeting of the Conference Francaise tonight. Mr. J. De Bos will speak on "Jesuits."

Professor J. W. White lectured before the students of Wellesley Monday evening last on the Greek threatre.

President Eliot will deliver a lecture next Tuesday evening in the vestry of the First Parish church on "The Happy Life."

The current issue of Harper's Weekly comments very favorably on the recent speech of President Eliot, declaring that "the remarke of the president of Harvard were in the interest of better journalism."

The Dartmouth professors have each had their salaries raised two hundred dollars.

Bowdoin college has challenged the University of Pennsylvania to a race in June. The challenge will probably be accepted.

G. L. Batchelder, '92, who was entered for the Yale and Second regiment games tomorrow night, is ill and will be unable to compete.

A portion of the freshman Glee club and the freshman Banjo club will give a concert at Winchendoux near Fitchburg, this evening.

The Princetonian will publish today as a supplement, the foot ball statement recently sent out by Harvard, together with the reply to the same by Princeton, both in full.

A Yale graduate has offered a fifty dollar silver cup to be contested for by the mile runners. The runs are open to Yale men only, and the man who wins three times will become the permanent owner of the cup.

At the New Church Theological school, Rev. John Worcester will give a series of seven lectures on the creation, flood, and other Bible narrations spiritually understood, on Tuesday evenings, at 7.30, beginning March 10th. The public are invited.

At a mass meeting held at Princeton last Wednesday, Alan D. Willson, '91, was elected president of the foot ball association for the ensuing year. Professor Osborne, '77, Duncan Edwards, '84, and Thompson, '77, were elected members of the graduate advisory committee. No treasurer was elected.

The interscholastic athletic association of Boston will hold its first winter meeting in the Mechanics building next Saturday under the supervision of the Boston athletic association. Six schools are represented in the association. The number of entries for the different events is large, and a successful meeting is anticipated.

Representatives from the various boat clubs in New York city and vicinity met last Monday and effected an organization to be known as the New York Rowing association. The Atlantas, Berkeley athletic club, Crescents, and several other rowing and athletic clubs hold a membership in the association.
