B. W. Trafford, '93, is training with the 'varsity nine, and E. Manning, '93, has been appointed leader of the squad of which Trafford had charge.

Keefe fo the New York league team will train the battery of the Princeton nine until the season opens, and Chas. Reilly of the Columbus club is training the remainder of the team.

A match for the professional tennis championship of the world is being arranged between Thomas Pettit, the American, and present champion, and Charles Saunders of England.

Professor Goodwin is at present in Sicily with Mr. Freeman, the historian, who is writing a history of Sicily. Professor Goodwin will give a half course next year on the siege of Syracuse, following the 6th and 7th books of Thucydides.

Outing has been selected by the National Lawn Tennis association as its official organ. Weekly editions containing tennis news will be issued under the editorship of O. S. Campbell and F. G. Kellogg; these editions will also be published in the regular monthly issue.

The candidates for the sophomore tug-of-war team, under the direction of M. I. Motte, are doing good work. The following men are trying at present: H. R. Allen, anchor; George Harding, H. O. Stickney, R. C. Robbins, G. H. Thomas, J. H. Rhoades, G. S. Curtis, A. I. DuPont, E. Wrenn. The election for captain will be held this afternoon.
