The baseball management has shown commendable energy in the last few days in its endeavors to call out material for the nine. Not only have printed notices been posted in conspicuous places, but private notes also have been sent to all men known to be ball players; and thus every effort has been made to secure success this spring. The notice printed in another column explains the wish of the management. They are desirous to meet at the time set all men actively interested in baseball, whether they have or have not received a personal note of invitation. The captain does not consider his present list of candidates complete, and it is his desire to secure the hearty co-operation of all interested. Any valuable information bearing on the welfare of baseball will be gladly received and treated as purely confidential. A real personal interest on the part of all students will accomplish a great deal for the nine as well as for all our athletics.
