Wellesley freshmen have a very odd custom concerning their class colors. They choose the colors in June, but endeavor to keep them secret until "Float Day" in June. Then they make them known with great celebration.

Harper's Weekly announces that Mr. James Russell Lowell has yielded to his physician's orders and given up the course of lectures he had intended delivering on "The Old English Dramatists" before the students of the University of Pennsylvania. The labor and strain the work would involve were considered to be too much for him in his present state of health.

The Harvard assemblies for 1890-91 will be held on the evenings of Dec. 17. Jan. 21, and March 31. The matron3 are Mrs. Arthur Amory, Mrs. Erancis Skinner, Mrs. Louis A. Shaw, Mrs. John Lowell. The managers are Mr. Stephen Van Rensselaer Crosby, Mr. Francis Reginald Bangs, Mr. Nicholas Longworth and Mr. Q fincy Alexander Shaw all of the senior class.
