The management of the University Crew has started out in an admirable manner to collect subscriptions. The old method, which was a bore to everyone, of apportioning each building to some one or two men is not being carried out; but instead, a great number of men have been chosen, each of whom is to see a small group of his friends. This way of getting money ought to succeed better than the ordinary way. Men have naturally become tired of having visitors armed with subscription papers appear at all manner of times at their rooms.
The crew has a debt which must be paid; moreover, enough money must be given to cover all the expenses of the coming year, and, as these facts are so well known, we hope each individual will give as much as he can to support the only one of the larger athletic organizations which is not selfsupporting.
