Professor Norton announced in Fine Arts 3 yesterday that he would be happy to see on Christmas Eve from eight to ten, any members of the course who may happen to be in Cambridge then. There will be no recitation in the course tomorrow.
Rev. Brooke Herford conducted the Vesper Service in Appleton Chapel yesterday assisted by Rev. William Lawrence. He spoke a few minutes on the word "Christian," telling what a strong word it had become in spite of centuries of opposition. The choir then sang: Christmas Carol-P. L. Atherton '93; Doth not Wisdom Cry-Haking; The King of Love-Shelley.
Alward, L. S., as representative of the B. A. A., won a wrestling contest Wednesday evening at the Pastime A. A. in New York from J. H. Hughes, who has held the championship of the United States. It took about three hours, the longest bout ever wrestled in American. Hughes was finally thrown by a half-Nelson. Alward will meet Hoskin of the Schuylkill Navy A. A. in the final heat on Saturday night.
