Harvard has beaten Yale at football. This is all that it is necessary to say. We cannot express all that it means to Harvard, and do not feel called upon to undertake the task; every one knows how years of work and years of study have been required to put such a team in the field as that which has just defeated an eleven that Yale was proud to call the best New Haven had ever seen.
It is a good thing for both Universities that Harvard won. It shows Harvard that Yale is not invincible, that the kind of work we have seen on Jarvis this year is sure to win, and it gives our men confidence in themselves; it shows Yale that her teams cannot always be victorious, that Harvard has thrown aside the old ways, and has begun a series of victories which we hope will more than rival the brilliant record of Yale.
