The writer of the communication in this issue has much justice on his side for, on the face of it, it certainly seems more the right of students in college to use Norton's field than the right of sub-freshmen. Surely college students ought to have a place to play foot ball. But the writer overlooks the fact that the field was taken to help 'varsity teams and that the cost of maintaining the grounds is paid by the University Associations. It is then, the right of 'varsity captains to dispose of the grounds as they think best. That there is great wisdom in encouraging this interscholastic league is made evident by merely glancing over the names of the men on the present eleven.
