Today's Game at Springfield.

The eleven will go to Springfield today and play Amherst. This will be a very interesting game for many reasons. The Amherst team is the only one that has scored against Harvard this year, and the 'varsity will certainly try to atone for this fact today. Since Amherst played here the team has improved wonderfully. Yale only succeeded in winning from her by a score of 10-0, and Cornell was defeated 16-0. A large delegation of Amherst men together with many ladies from Smith college will come to Springfield to witness the game; with such encouragement the Amherst team will doubtless be made up as follows: Rushers, Hamilton, Crocker, Morse, Lewis, Stewart or Jacobs, Allen, and G. S. Raley; quarter-back, Lyall; half-backs, Cutler, Talcott or F. J. Raley; full-back, Pratt;

The second eleven will go with the 'varsity as it is probable that the Amherst team will only play an hour, and Captain Cumnock desires that the eleven should have a full hour and a half practice.
