The notice posted in the Law School has caused much discussion. It states that hereafter no special students will be allowed to remain more than one year unless they pass in at least three courses; it also states that regular men will be dropped unless they have three courses to their credit. The part referring to special students deserves attention, for it closes to loafers the only part of the university at which they might matriculate. We have wished that this might be done. Harvard can never again be accused of harboring men who come to college merely for social or athletic purposes and the earnest desire to help workers here and not loafers is made more clear than ever before.
