The brief, for the second forensic in English C and D are due on Tuesday, January 7. The forensics are due on the twentieth.
The Cornell freshmen will, for the first time, put an eight-oared crew on the water in the spring. It is said that they intend to challenge the Harvard freshmen.
The Bishop of Richmond recently preached a sermon on football, before a congregation of more than a thousand persons, at St. John's church, Bedford, England.
Only four of last year's Amherst nine are in college, Pope, Hare, Burns, and Sullivan. There is good material in college, however, and the prospect for a strong team is encouraging. Sullivan will captain the nine.
The next College Conference meeting will be held next Tuesday evening. Professor W. S. Chaplin will speak on "College Discipline."
The track athletes will begin, active training on Tuesday. A large number will take part in the Boston Athletic association games on the 15th of February, and unusually strict training will be observed in preparation for that day.
The Dartmouth Glee club has arranged the following dates: Waltham, January 10; Wellesley, January 11; Milford, January 13. The club may possibly appear in Boston, Fitchburg, Nashua, Dover, Rochester and Brattleboro,
The Boston Columbia College Alumni Association has arranged to hold its annual dinner February 5, the day following Hon. Seth Low's formal installation into the presidency of the college. The dinner will be held at the Hotel Brunswick.
Sanborn has removed his billiard and pool rooms on Harvard street two doors above to one of the large rooms on the ground-floor of the new building. The new rooms have been fitted up very comfortably, and every convenience is offered for the accommodation of the players.
