The annual out door athletic meeting of St Paul's School took place on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Three record were broken. The results were as follows:
Putting shot 16 pounds-David B. Lyman, 32 feet, 6 inches.
Senior 100 yards dash for Van Rensselaer Westervelt challenge cup-First heat, C. Hanscom, 11 2-5 s.; second heat, W. Swayne Jr. 10 3-5s.
One mile walk for Evarts challenge cup-H. W. Thornton, 8m. 3-5s.
Senior quarter mile run for Potter challenge medal-I. McD. Garfield, 54 1-5 seconds.
Third class, 100 yards dash-D. F. Richardson, 11 1-5s, breaking the record; W. G. Reed, second.
Running broad jump-M. K. Gordon 19 feet 2 inches.
Throwing base ball-W. L. Hayden 314 feet 5 inches.
Throwing hammer, 12 pounds-B. W. Morris, Jr., 97 ft. J. M. Fiske second both breaking the record.
One mile run for Curtis challenge cup-M. K Gordon, 5 m. 10 3 5s.
Pole vault-G. L. Farnum, 7 feet.
Junior one-mile bicycle race-H. D. Kountze 3m. 35s.
Senior half-mile run, for the Gardiner challenge cup, won by A. Garfield, 2 minutes, 16 1 5s; G. M. Laughlin, second.
Junior half-mile run, won by J. I Fearing, 2 m, 38 4-5s; A. M. Kales second.
Senior 220-yards dash, won by A. S. Reed, 24 4-5s; W. S. Appleton second.
