Editors Daily Crimson:

Can not something be done before the term closes in regard to the Christmas recess next year? According to VIII statute of the University, the recess is but eleven days long-shorter than that of almost any other college in the country, and as by the new regulations no cuts at that time are allowed, this vacation becomes a simple mockery to southern and western men who must spend most of it in traveling in order to get home at all during the year. The only remedy is a petition to the corporation and overseers of the university, and this ought to be made immediately. Can not, therefore, a petition be started, such as was gotten up in regard to prayers a few years ago? It is sure to be universally signed and, backed by the examples of other colleges, ought to have great influences with the overseers.

A WESTERN MAN.
