The mass meeting yesterday afternoon showed that lacrosse has no hold whatever on the interest of the men in college. To many it has been evident for some time that the sport of lacrosse as an object of University interest and support, was doomed, and the meeting of yesterday afternoon has now fortunately settled the question. We regret that the team could not go on and finish the season but under the circumstances we commend most heartily the decision of yesterday's meeting.

The college takes no interest in lacrosse and a team that it feels no interest in it will not support. The fault is not in the team, but in the fact that there is no room for lacrosse; we have too many other and more interesting branches of athletics. Men do not care for lacrosse with all the other more popular sports. As long as a team cannot get the hearty support of the college its reason for existence is gone.

We extend our sympathy to the members of the lacrosse team and association, for they have done their best, but they, as well as the rest of the college, must feel that lacrosse, in view of all our other athletics, has been proved not a strong enough interest to secure college support, and therefore must give way. We remind the college that to end its career honorably the association must have subscriptions to pay off its debt. This obligation rest upon the college and we urge that every one feel a duty in the matter.
