The freshman Glee Club this year is giving a larger number of concerts than is usual for freshman clubs. So far this season two concerts have been given. On Saturday evening both the Glee and Banjo clubs give a concert in Boston at the rooms of the Boston Art Club. This is the first time a freshman club has received an invitation to sing at the Art Club. On Thursday, May 2, the club will give a concert in Boston, at 143 Newberry street, the house of Lewis Hall, '92. A large number of tickets have been already sold for this concert, the proceeds of which will be given to the freshman crew. The annual Cambridge concert at Lyceum Hall will probably be given in the second or third week in May. At this concert a considerable amount of money will be netted for the freshman crew if the concert receives the support it should from the college, and especially from members of the freshman class.
The club has received an invitation to sing at Milton also. The money from this concert will also be given to the crew. A dance will be given to the club after the concert. It is very possible that a concert will be given at Andover May 22, the evening of the freshman game there. Last year the Ninety-one club gave a concert there and had a very enjoyable time. The club this year is making good progress. It has taken the advice of the older men in college and has decided to try simpler songs, and get them as perfectly as possible. Mr. Locke has drilled the club several times and it has drilled the club several times and it has shown marked improvement under his leadership. The Banjo club is doing well. Several new selections have been learned lately and the men are doing all in their power to make the club a strong one.
