The Cricket Club.

On Saturday afternoon the cricket men began practice back of Divinity, the following men being out: Garrett, Bayer, Knapp, G. P. Butters, W. H. Butters, from '89; R. D. Brown, Hawes, Livingston, Balch from '90 Van Rensselaer, Davis, Beer from '91; Nicolls, King from '92; also Sullivan and Henry, L. S. The men practiced batting and fielding, Captain Brown doing most of the coaching. The team will play its first game (an exhibition one) this afternoon with the Shamrock club of Cambridge. A number of men have been included in the eleven that will play today, with the view of testing their abilities. No serious practice has been possible as yet, owing to the lack of a suitable ground, or rather any ground at all, About ten games have been arranged for this spring, two of them-those with the University of Pennsylvania and Haverford College-being for the intercollegiate championship. If a suitable ground can be had the prospects for a good eleven this year seem encouraging, as a number of new men have turned up.
