The effect of the spring trip of the nine has been to show that if Harvard is to put a victorious team in the field in the coming championship games a great deal of hard work must be done. The work of the nine agains professionals was, to say the least, discouraging, although, when we take into consideration all the disadvantages under which the nine played, not so unsatisfactory as many seem to think. The infield is very weak and the team as a whole bat very poorly, The great advantage of these professional games is to bring out the weak points of the team and especially to develop steadiness of play. The games during the recess have showed, that without incessant hard work we have not the least chance of winning the championship.
