Sidney Bartlett, '18, died yesterday in Boston at the age of 90 years. He was the oldest graduate practicing law, and throughout his entire life was noted for his energy and devotion to his profession.
Chauncey M. Depew has accepted the invitation of the Yale Law School faculty to deliver the oration at the commencement exercises in June.
Dr. Hart is still to ill to meet his courses. There will be no recitation Saturday for History 13 and 17 but students will read the topical readings covering the omitted lectures.
The Yale Freshman Crew have elected Swayne permanent captain. The meeting of the candidates was addressed by Captain Woodruff in regard to rowing and training.
The students of the Columbia College School of Mines have arranged for a large fair to be held on March 21, 22 and 23, for the benefit of the Freshman and University crews.
The Amherst College Glee Club gave a concert at Gardner Wednesday night. After the concert the club was tendered a reception and dance by the Gardner High School.
The Amherst Student charges some of their faculty with total inefficiency, stating that their capacity is below the grade of an ordinary preparatory school. It demands a change in the quality of instruction.
