Mr. Babcock, the well-known basso of Boston, will assist the chapel choir at the vesper service this afternoon.
The third Harvard assembly takes place this evening.
The first lecture in Civil Procedure at the Law School will be given on Friday, February 8.
Professor Barrett Wendell will contribute the leading article in the March Monthly. Its subject will be "The Harvard Undergraduate."
Hereafter the class crews will row in the tank on the following days: '89, Wednesdays; '90, Fridays; '91, Mondays; '92, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The university crew rows every day at four o'clock.
It is especially requested that every one who visits the tank while it is occupied by any crew be careful to remain behind the rope and to abstain from talking or otherwise annoying the men who are at work.
Tuesday afternoon all the candidates for the various crews rowed in the tank under the inspection of Captain Herrick. The following men constituted a second crew: '92, Kidder, Goddard. Porter and Travis; '89, Marvin and Barthelow; '90, Pulsifer and Chamberlain; '91, Goldthwaite.
The college authorities propose to lay out a new athletic ground back of Divinity Hall if the expense does not appear to be too great. The lot contains four acres and will provide room for at least two or three new baseball fields. Members of Engineering 2 have been surveying the field for some time past.
The '92 tug-of-war team has commenced work. Motte, Viles, Grant, McDonald, Boardman and Duane are trying for positions on the rope, and Allen, Stickney and Potter for the position of anchor. The team has been coached by Perry, '89, and Amory, '90. The small number of candidates is discouraging.
The Boston Symphony Orchestra will give, tonight, the fourth concert in the series in Sanders Theatre. The soloist will be Miss Adele Ausder Ohe. The programme is as follows.
