Vesper Service.

The vesper service yesterday afternoon was opened with the anthem "No Shadows Yonder," by Gaul. Rev. Alexander McKenzie delivered the address. He said that there is already so much hardship in life that one who performs his duty faithfully finds his energy taxed to its full capacity. There is no need, therefore, for us to seek burdens. We may enjoy what happiness comes in our way, providing that we do not wander from the path of righteousness in seeking it. If the cross comes to us we must bear it, but if the crown comes we may wear it. The second anthem was "And the City had no need of the sun," by Whittington. The final hymn, for men's voices only, was Garrett's "Nunc Dimittis."
