Dr. John C. Dalton president of the New York College of Physicians and Surgeons, died Tuesday. Dr. Dalton was a native of Chelmsford, Mass., and a Harvard graduate of the class of '44.

Marks in Chem. 3 will not be given out. Marks in N. H. 4 will be given out Friday.

H. Couring, '90, F. W. Burlingham, '91, and E. Mills, '91, were elected members of the Chess and Whist Club at a meeting held last evening.

A United Presbyterian college has been established at Sterling, Kan., under the name of Cooper Memorial College.

The first division in Mathematics E will recite this morning in Harvard 5 at ten o'clock; the second division will recite tomorrow at 11 o'clock.

The Rev. William Lawrence will speak at the meeting of the Y. M. C. A. in Lawrence Hall this evening at 6.30 o'clock. All students are cordially invited.

The course in Physics A which freshmen take the next half year is very materially changed this year. Instead of the course being in the hands of one man as heretofore, lectures will be delivered by Dr. Whiting, Professors Hall, B. O. Pierce, Trowbridge, and Dr. Sheldon. The first lecture will be given a week from today by Dr. Whiting on "Matter and Motion," in the large lecture room of the Jefferson Physical Laboratory. The lectures of this course are open to all members of the university.
