The manager of the Yale eleven claims that Yale lost over $2000 in the Yale-Princeton game by the mismanagement of Dr. White of the Berkeley Athletic club. Yale received a check for $5000 with a promise of more in the near future.

The candidates for the Yale crew met Captain Allen Wednesday night. It was decided to begin regular training the first Saturday after Christmas; the men will go to training table about March 1, The following men presented themselves as candidates: Ryle, Ely, Aiken, Swayne, Tillson, Heffelfinger, Isham, Thompson, Camp, Morrison, Klimpke, Balliet, Harrison, Cartwright, Ferris, Simms and James. Some of the old men were not present at the meeting, but will row. Captain Allen believes that the true secret of Yale's success lies in her system of careful training rather than in the Cook stroke, and the men who sit in Yale's boat next June will be better trained than any previous crew, if that be possible.
