ENGLISH B.A talk on descriptive writing will be given in Sever 11, on Tuesday, October 8 at 2 o'clock.

Theme I, A Reminiscence, will be due on Tuesday, October 8.

Themes are to be deposited in the wooden box in Sever 3. not later than 4 o'clock. By the regulations no overdue theme will be accepted unless the writer satisfies the Secretary that his failure to present it at the proper time was caused by serious illness or other unavoidable hindrance.

Every student is required to follow implicitly the directions with to paper, folding, endorsing, etc., given on the English Composition card.

GREEK LECTURES.During the Academic year six introductory lessons will be delivered to the Freshmen by Instructors in the Greek Department. These lectures are open to the public. The first, entitled "Public Speaking in Athens: Lysias," will be given on Wednesday, October 9, at 3 p. m., in Sever 11, by Dr. Morgan.

THE FRENCH ELECTIONS.On Thursday, October 10 Professor Cohn will deliver a lecture on "The late General Election in France and its probable consequences. Sever 11, 7.30 p. m. The public are invited.

Miscellaneous.The Museum of Comparative Zoology the Peabody Museum of Archaeology, and the Mineralogical Museum in Boylston Hall, are open to the public every week-day from 9 till 5.

The Botanic Garden is open Sundays as well as week days.

The library in Gore Hall is open Sundays during term-time from 1 till 5 o'clock for the use of members of the university only.
