The trials of candidates for the Pierian Sodality took place Tuesday night and last night in Roberts Hall. Sixteen candidates, the majority of whom were freshmen, presented themselves. The new candidates and the instruments which they play are as follows:
Violin-H. A. Eaton, C. Brewer, J. C. Hoppin, O. G. Villard, G. H. Ingalls, J. C. Hayes, W. Cary, Alfred Friedlander. Clarionet-F. R. Sibley. Flute-E. H. Carpenter, R. E. Leach. Cornet-C. H. Pierce. Cello-C. M. Keep. Snare drum-C. E. Cook. Piano-Mr. Worthely. End instruments-Walter C. Nichols.
The successful candidates will be notified before Sunday, and the newly organized orchestra will soon begin its rehearsals.
