Second Eleven 14; '92. 0.

The second eleven played a practice game with '92 on the new athletic grounds last Saturday afternoon. Play was called at 2.25. Ninety-two taking the south goal. The game began in a spirited manner. The ball was forced at once to Ninety-two's ten yard line, but a good kick by Forbes returned the ball near the centre of the field. Moen then made a fine rush again advancing the ball to Ninety-two's ten-yard line. The sophomores now began to play a spirited, but not scientific game. But after three downs Crane pushed the ball over the line making the first touchdown in twelve minutes. No goal. Score, 4-0. Ninety-two began with a long kick which was returned by Johnson, bringing the ball to Ninety-two's fifteen yard line. Here the ball remained some time, until Crane secured it and advanced to within three feet of Ninety-two's goal; He was soon pushed over, making the second touchdown in three minutes. No goal. Score, 8-0. White made a long punt which Crane fumbled but followed with a short rush. Moen then made a fine rush carrying the ball near Ninety-two's goal and shortly was forced over, making third touchdown in five minutes. Johnson kicked a goal just before time was called. Score, 14-0.

It was agreed that the second half should be only ten minutes. Ninety-two took the ball and made a short rush. Crane then kicked, Forbes returning, Moen rushed gaining ground lost by Forbes kick. The ball was then advanced towards Ninety-two's goal but a good rush by White and a long kick by Forbes gained twenty yards. Rushes by Moen and Crane brought the ball near Ninety-two's goal. A poor pass by Cheney put the ball over White's head. Forbes then rushed just as time was called. No score was made in the second half. The best work was done by Moen, Crane, Forbes and White but the team work of both sides was poor.

The teams were made up as follows: Second Eleven-rushers, Tilton, Cumming, Vail, Rogers, (centre) Hill, Dodge, Alwood; quarter-back, Hallo-well, half-backs, Moen and Johnson; full-back. Crane. Ninety-two-rushers, Chase, Putnam, Steadman, Pinkham (centre) Rantoul, Draper, McDonald; quarter-back. Cheney; half-backs, White and Henry; full-back Forbes.
