Latin 10 will meet in Sever 16 on Monday at 12 M.

Professors Palmer and Bocher have taken advantage of their sabbatical year, and are now travelling abroad.

The candidates for the 'varsity football team will begin practice on Jarvis this afternoon.

The Princeton 'varsity football team plays Lehigh next Saturday, and the Crescents of Brooklyn the Saturday following.

Beecher, captain of Yale's football team last year, will play with the Staten Islands this year. Five other Yale men are on the same team.

A large delegation of the Harvard Canoe Club attended the meet of the A. C. A. last month, and the Harvard camp display on the gala night was reported as the finest in the camp.

Professor Allen will be in Sever 15 from 10 to 11.30 o'clock Saturday, September 29, to consult with any students who desire to elect Latin 11, or Greek and Latin 2.

The instructors will meet applicants for courses in Romance Philology as follows: Courses, 1, 2, 4 and 5 on Thursday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m., in Sever A; 6, at 2 p.m., and course 7 at 4 p.m.

Professor Cohn will meet students desiring to consult him about their French electives, on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 27 and 28, from ten to twelve, in Sever 19.

At a recent meeting of the Yale University crew, George R. Carter of the scientific school, who has pulled at No. 7 in the last two races, was elected captain for the season of 1889.

F. P. Clary, the colored assistant in the chemical laboratory, died during the summer. He was connected with the laboratory for nearly his entire adult life, and his loss will be seriously felt.

Of the four most promising men in athletics of the graduating class of Phillips Exeter Academy, Morrison and McClung have entered Yale, and Cranston and Harding have entered Harvard.

Beecher, ex-captain of the Yale football team, is playing with the Staten Island eleven, and Wood, Harvard '88, will play with the Orange Athletic Club of New Jersey.

The laboratory examination in elementary experimental physics will be held in room 41 of the Jefferson Laboratory today, at 10.30 a.m.

The instructors will meet applicants for courses in Roman philology today, in Sever A, as follows: Courses, 1, 2, 4 and 5 at 11 a.m.; course 6 at 2 p.m,; and course 7 at 4 p.m.

Students will register today between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. as follows: Seniors, in Sever 1; juniors in Sever 8; sophomores in University 17; freshmen in University 2; special students in Harvard 1; students of Lawrence Scientific School will register in the No. 8 L. S. S. Building.

The annual cricket match between the United States and Canada, played this year at Toronto, was won by our representatives by an innings and 87 runs, the score being, United States 205, Canada 79 and 39. Of the former 15 contests played, the United States have won 9, Canada 5, and the odd game was drawn.

The Yale freshman navy has elected the following officers: Swayne, '92, president; Weyerhauser, '91, S., vice-president; Hoyt, '92, and Walker, '91, S., treasurers. The class foot-ball officers are Pell, '92, president; Pearce, '91, S., vice-president; Sturtevant, '91, S., and Kellar, '90, treasurers. They will get an eleven in training as quickly as possible, and will challenge Harvard '92.
