The Base-Ball Association has, as yet, taken no action towards arranging for the "amateur championship" games. There are many men in college who like to play base-ball, but who cannot play well enough to try for the 'varsity or class nines. All these men would be glad to have a series of games similar to that of last year. All that is necessary to make the scheme successful is for the management to offer cups to the winning nine and define the rules governing the contests. There will be enough nines to make an interesting contest for first place. The games last year furnished a great deal of spirt and were enjoyed at least by the players. It is to be hoped that the management, if it intends to have the games this year, will not delay action longer.
