The '90 nine defeated the Memorials Tuesday by a score of 7 to 5.

The '90 nine plays the Law School nine this afternoon.

The Princeton lacrosse team last week defeated the Rutgers College team five goals to one.

The stonecutters at work on Yale's new library have stopped work because of non-union men.

By the will of G. W. Hubbard, of Hatfield, Mass, Smith College will receive about $150,000.

The Amherst nine were defeated on Tuesday by the Cuban Giants: score 8 to 5.

The first of the class series of base ball games will be played at 4 o'clock this afternoon; '88 versus '91.

This is the last day for receiving applications for college rooms. Applications must be handed in before 1 p. m.

The Shooting Club has a regular shoot this afternoon; also a match for "Founders' cup."

Among the rowing events of the year will probably be an international fouroared race between American and Nova Scotia professionals. The race will take place at Halifax and will be for from $3000 to $5000 a side.

The fifty-sixth annual convention of the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity is held in New York today and tomorrow.

The blue-books for the last hour examination in N. H. 4 will be returned Wednesday next.

Harris, Princeton, '86, has been elected to the Graduate Advisory Committee of Princeton, in place of Robt. Bonner, resigned.

T. P. King has been elected captain of the freshman lacrosse team. A large number of candidates have been out practising lately, and there are good prospects of a strong team.

One fault which will have to be corrected in our nine is the base running, which is not nearly so good as it will have to be before the pennant is ours.- Princeton.

Yesterday's Herold published a long letter from R. H. Dana, '74, captain of the 'varsity crew for two years, in which he sharply criticizes the action of the Board of Overseers.

The Glee and Banjo Clubs will give a concert in the Academy of Music, Haverhill, tomorrow evening, under the anspices of the Haverhill Tennis Club. The Tennis Club will give the Harvard societies a reception in Lincoln Hall after the concert.

Princeton celebrated her victory over Yale with great enthusiasm last Saturday evening. A Glee Club concert was given in the yard; bonfires were built; and calls were made upon Dr. McCosh, Dean Murray, and several professors, all of whom made congratulatory addresses.

At a meeting of the Boston Y. M. C. A., this evening, the Technology Glee Club will furnish music, and Mr. E. C. Pfeiffer, '89, late captain of the University crew, will speak. The subject before the meeting will be the true scope and limitations of athletics and open air sports. The rules for the open air club, in connection with the Union Athletic grounds, will also be announced and organization effected.
