The petition for a change in the spring recess has been withdrawn from Leavitt and Peirce's. We have been informed that, owing to the many stages which the petition will have to go through before it is finally acted upon, there will not be any chance of a change this year. Such a petition should be started early in the autumn. Besides, only about two hundred men have signed, whereas a request for such a radical change in the college arrangements should be backed by a majority of the students. There is another objection to the petition which was not foreseen when it was started, which is that Easter is such a moveable feast that it would not do to fix the vacation by it. For these reasons we have withdrawn the book which contains the petition.
