We understand that the H. A. A. is willing that a fourth winter meeting should be held for the benefit of the University Crew, provided that the Boat Club assumes all the responsibility. We hope that the precedent of last year will be followed and that an extra meeting, similar to the one under Mr. Lathrop's management, will be held. There is no doubt that such a step would be successful. It was proved last year that these winter meetings had not exhausted the interest in such exhibitions, and when the element of crew patriotism is added there is always an assurance of financial success.
If Mr. Lathrop can be persuaded once more to take charge of the affair, we may be assured that it will be not merely a crew benefit, but a highly interesting exhibition of athletic contests.
