Since the yard authorities complied with the oft-expressed desire of the CRIMSON and furnished us with plank walks, a time worn subject for articles of all kinds has been removed. The authorities have used praiseworthy care in keeping the walks in the yard free from snow this winter. There are, however, a few places where especial care should be taken, and which seem to have been neglected. These are the steps of the various dormitories, and more especially Weld and Thayer. Covered with ice as they are at present, with but a slight covering of ashes, which tend merely to conceal the slippery surface beneath, they endanger the limbs of every one who makes use of them. More than ordinary care should be used to keep these steps free from ice. Several minor accidents have taken place which may be but the precursors of one more serious. The janitors seem to be waiting for nature to do that for which they are hired.
