We congratulate the '89 board of the Advocate on its energy and good taste as shown in the improved appearance of the paper. The change from a black and white to a crimson and white cover, the absence of the dividing line between the columns, and the new arrangement both of prose and verse all go to make up a very attractive-looking paper. Old Mother Advocate stepping out of her ancient crinoline and poke bonnet, and arraying herself in the garments which modern fashion demands, presents a very pretty and graceful picture, and she need not blush at it either. She has our sincerest congratulations, applause and good wishes on this, her first appearance under the able management of '89.
