Freshman Glee Club.

The Freshman Glee Club gives its first concert this evening in Peirce Hall, Brookline. Nearly all the tickets have been already disposed of, and there is every indication that the concert will be a success. The club has been steadily at work since October under the supervision of Mr. Locke. Rehearsals have been held twice a week through the winter, and recently, in anticipation of the concert, two rehearsals have been held each day. A freshman glee club is useful in training material for the 'Varsity Club in after years, and it would seem that '91 had some very good men who can fill the places on the 'Varsity that will be left vacant by '88. The concert in Cambridge will be given some time in April.

At this evening's concert the club will be assisted by Hackett, Willard and Longworth, all of '91-Hackett and Willard each singing a solo, and Longworth playing a solo on the violin. The club has twenty-four members: First tenors-Rice, Ruggles, Parker, Blaney, Willard, Scott; second tenors-Liscomb, White, King, Morton, Hayes; first bases-Williams, Frame, Holt, Marple, Washburn. J. W. Rice, Geary; second basses-Griffin, Hate, Hopkinson, Cannon, Longstreth, Embick, Alkinson. The officers of the club are: President, Atkinson; secretary, Hopkinson; leader, Liscomb.
