Prof. F. G. Peabody will occupy the college pulpit to-morrow evening.

The first of Prof. Hill's lectures to freshmen on English literature will be given to-day and will be introductory.

The long-promised portrait of Amos A. Lawrence, by Eastman Johnson, has recently been placed in Memorial.

There will be an important meeting of the CRIMSON Board to-day at 1.45. A full attendance is desired.

All those who have not received their blue books in N. H. 4 can get them of Prof. Shaler.

Curtis, '90, has injured his hand quite seriously, but he hopes to be able to spar in the winter meeting.

A number of Harvard men went to Wakefield last evening to attend the meeting of the Wakefield Sparring Club.

Last Thursday evening Mr. Loiseau delivered a very interesting lecture before the Conference Francaise in the society's room in Dane Hall, on "Lavie au college on France."

The leading article in the March Scribners will be the first of two papers by Mr. John C. Ropes on "The Campaign of Waterloo."

There will be lectures in N. H. IV on Mondays until further notice. On the last appointment before the Easter recess will be held the second hour examination.

There will be a lecture to-night in Union Hall, Boylston street, Boston, by Edward Atkinson on "Practical Economics." The lecture begins at 7.45 and will be open to the public.

Prof. Shaler has advised the class in N. H. IV to read Professor Croswell's translation of the younger Pliny's letters which appear in one of the articles on "Volcanoes" in a recent number of Scribner's Magazine.

Prof. Sumichrast, of Halifax, N. S., who became an instructor in French, at Harvard during the sickness of Prof. Bocher, gave a lecture in Union Hall, Boston, on Thursday evening, on "Personal Habits."

Following is the programme for this evening's symphony in Music Hall: Gradener, overture (Lustspiel), first time; G. F. Hendel, Oboe Concerto; H. Berlioz, three movements from symphony "Romeo and Jullet;" F. Mendelsohn, overture (Ruy Blas). The soloist will be Monsieur A. Sauter.
