The trustees of Oberlin have refused to accept the resignation of President Fairchild.

By the recent meeting at the Academy of Music, in Phila., the U. of P. Athletic Association cleared $841.12. This amount will be devoted to the expenses of the athletic and navy departments.

According to the universally-expressed desire, Henry Irving will produce "Faust" three times next week-on Monday and Tuesday evenings and on Thursday afternoon.

At the Hofmann concert, to night, in Music Hall, the orchestra, conducted by young Hofmann, will perform his newly-composed "Polonaise Americaine." There will be another matinee tomorrow afternoon.

In consequence of the illness of Prof. Royce, Philosophy 3 will not be given during the second half-year. Students will reckon the work done thus far as a half course, and may elect any other half course or may elect any other half course or may enter either Philosophy 1 or 2 for the remainder of the year.

The rooms for the English A examinations have been assigned as follows: Adler-Baldwin in Sever 1; Ballou-Brooks in Sever 5; Buffum-Cummings in Sever 6; Cumnock-Finley in Sever 17; Fiske-Halliday in Sever 24; Hamburger-Johnson in Sever 30; Jones-Muller in Sever 35; Weill-Valle in Sever 37; Wainwright-Wynne in U. 3.

Philosophy 13 will be continued under the charge of Francis E. Abbott, Ph. D. The first lecture will be on Wednesday, Feb. 15. Students are requested to bring with them "Abbot's Scientific Theism." Members of this course may count the work already done as a half course, and elect any other half course for the remainder of year.

The lectures and other exercises in N. II. IV., VIII., XIV. and XVI. will begin on Monday, February 13. The results of the examinations before the Christmas recess may be obtained at that time. The conference meetings of N. II. XVI. will be resumed on Tuesday, 14th inst., at 7.45 p. m., in room 2. Museum. Professor Shaler will give an account of the more important results obtained in his recent-expedition to Southern Florida.
